Ph.D. SCHOLARSHIP

The Centre for the Study of Research Training and Impact (SORTI) at the University of Newcastle, Australia is offering a Ph.D. scholarship to commence in second semester 2008. The successful applicant will work, within the Centre, on an ARC funded project with Chief Investigators Allyson Holbrook and Sid Bourke.

The project concerns assessment criteria and reporting practices for Ph.D. and research masters theses. It offers an exceptional opportunity to investigate relationships between formative and summative assessment at these advanced levels of learning. The successful applicant will gain methodological experience of both qualitative and quantitative approaches within a mixed methods design.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Organisational Behaviour
Jacobs University (Bremen, Germany)

Applications are invited for the above post at the Jacobs Centre on Lifelong
Learning at Jacobs University. The successful candidate will collaborate on
a project funded by the Volkswagen Foundation on older workers' cognitive
resources (e.g., routinisation) for innovation behaviour. Within a cognitive
psychological framework, we will use quantitative survey and experimental
methods to study the trainability of cognitive resources.

Candidates must have a PhD in psychology, organisational behaviour, or a
related discipline. Experience of experimental research is essential, as are
solid knowledge of cognitive psychology and data analysis including MANOVA
and regression analysis.

Salary will be approx. 36,600 per annum. This post is available from 1 Oct,
2008 and will be offered on a fixed-term contract for a maximum period of
three years. Contract renewal is possible.
