Nevertheless, integration of technology in education is a sensitive task that has to be planned well in order to meet the needs of learners, teachers and educational objectives. Current changes in European education stress the role of competences and educational standards and their fostering within educational practice. Here, meaningful computer-based learning environments can contribute to achieve competence acquisition and to meet super ordinate educational standards. Contributions dedicated to empirical research (foundational as well as applied empirical research) within this area are encouraged. But also other contributions covering the area of learning and instruction with computers within schools, universities, the corporate world or informal learning settings are welcome. http://www2.sbg.ac.at/earli2008/ Sig 8 BIENNIAL SIG MOTIVATION MEETING 21-23 August 2008, Turku, Finland Motivation in action www.otuk.utu.fi/conferences/icm2008 Sig 9 SIG WORKSHOP PHENOMENOGRAPHY AND VARIATION THEORY 22-24 May 2008, Kristianstad, Sweden Implications of Phenomenography and Variation Theory in Practice http://www.distans.hkr.se/sig9/home/EARLI.htm deadline submission 29 February 2008 Sig 10 JOINT SIG CONFERENCE: SIG SOCIAL INTERACTION IN LEARNING AND INSTRUCTION SIG SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS SIG LEARNING AND TEACHING IN CULTURALLY DIVERSE SETTINGS 19-20 May 2008, Goteborg, Sweden Social interaction, learning and diversity Sig 11 EARLI SIG 11 Teaching and Teacher Education Conference Fribourg, Switzerland 17 - 20 August 2008 For more details Sig 12 The 11th International Conference of the EARLI Special Interest Group on Writing will be held at the Centre for Languages and Literature, Sweden, from the 11th to the 13th of June 2008. http://sigwriting2008.sol.lu.se Sig 13 SYMPOSIUM OF THE EARLI SIG 13 MORAL AND DEMOCRATIC EDUCATION to be held at Florina in Greece, 24-27 August 2008.
