EARLI Advanced Study Colloquia (ASC)
Character of this event:
An ASC is a five day meeting of a small group of EARLI members (12 to 20) who gather for an in-depth discussion on research design, analyses, results, future research questions, current developments in a specific domain of learning and instruction.
The participants, from at least three different countries, are professors each accompanied by up to two PhD-student(s) or junior researchers. The meeting takes place in Europe, unless there are clear arguments for going outside Europe.
Organisation:
Organised by the hosting institution, in close cooperation with EARLI.
Participants:
The ASC welcomes full professors from at least 3 different countries, accompanied by 1 or 2 PhD-students per professor. The total number of attendants preferably not exceeds 20.
Programme:
The 5-day meeting may include maximum one day for excursion. The programme allows in-dept discussion and feedback for junior researchers.
Location and time:
The ASC will take place every year in springtime on an attractive location in or outside Europe, preferably a university.
EARLI Funding:
EARLI funds this event for a maximum amount of 6000 Euro. This amount must be used to cover the following items: colloquium room; hotel accommodation costs, catering costs, materials and flight costs for a maximum amount of 250 Euro per flight.
Tasks of the hosting professor:
The hosting professor and a colleague expert from a different country and working in that specific domain of the conference, are responsible for the review of the contributions. They make the final decision on acceptance and actual participation. The hosting organiser takes care of the arrangement of accommodation and will negotiate the prices for catering and lodging.
